Camping at the Beach on the Weekend

Camping at the beach was so relaxing, that I would do it again at anytime. I loved listening to the ocean right before falling asleep. Carter enjoyed exploring the ocean with his daddy. He also rode his bike with his two friends. Every night, Frank cooked a peach cobbler in his Dutch oven. Frank, thank you for the wonderful weekend!

At Disneyland

Carter's first trip to Disneyland was awesome.
Fighting Darth Vader was his favorite thing to
do. We got on all the rides except for the Indiana
Jones. He told told us that we need to go back
to Disneyland, so he ca fight Darth Mal.

Hiking on the 4th of July

Our previous plan for the fourth of July was to stay at home, but then Frank decided to go hiking, may be because Carter has been wanting to go up to the mountains. He thought that taking us to see a waterfall will be a fun experience. It was funny to see Carter walking, climbing the rocks and wanting not to take any breaks. We finally convinced him that we should have a snack. We continued hiking up to the waterfall. The view is amazing and the waterfall is beautiful. In the way back Frank found a rattle snake. A search and rescue guy cut off its head and let Cater feel the tail. Carter said it was nasty. We also talked to a lady that stated seeing a brown baby bear. We did not get to see it but it could it be cool. May be next time. After the hike we went to Big Bear. We had a delicious dinner in a restaurant in front of the lake. Thank you Frank, we had a lot of fun.

Thanks to the Garcia family for a very exciting day at the lake. We could not asked for a better weather as it was beautiful and sunny. The girls stayed at the lake chatting and enjoying each other's, company. The kids spent the time playing in the water. The boys on the other hand, spent their time four wheeling and targeting. Besides being a relaxing day, it was also a lot of fun for all of us.

Ready, set, go...said carter when we were ready to jump in. We could not wait any longer to go play in the water and decided it was the time to do it. Since the big pool was just a little too cold for us, the hot tub was perfect to release the stress of a long day. Even Carter said he gets stress out and needed some sort of relaxation and that was exactly what we got.

We definitely are people that loves nature, therefore exploring our surroundings was something we enjoined doing last weekend. Not too far away from home we found a field of beautiful orange flowers. There are hundreds of them and we could not resist to stop by and observe them from closer. Then, we found an awesome view to the mountains from a park named Great View. It truly is a great view. Finally, from our bedroom window we appreciate the amazing sunset every day. If there is something we share as a family, that will be our love for nature specially for mountains, deserts and the beach. Frank loves mountains and deserts; Carter loves mountains, and I love mountains and the beach.

It Is Legos Time

The theme for this month at the Hansen's home is Legos.
Carter has been playing with Frank's Legos collection for a while.
Frank started his Legos collection since he was a kid. No wonder
he constantly reminder us not to loose them.

Carter was very excited about playing Legos and
immediately started to look for the right pieces.

Carter showed me how to put the pieces together. And
after few hours of work, he proudly finished his army
of Legos. We not only had a lot of fun, but we shared some good
ideas on playing with Legos and some laughs.

1. I asked Carter; are you sick? I am not sick, I am cranky; he answered.

2. Having dinner at a restaurant, a senior couple that was passing by didn't hear Carter when he said hi to them. They didn’t answered, they can’t hear me, said Carter. He tried again with the next person passing by. This time he got lucky, the man answered back saying hello. He can hear me, that man can hear me mom, said Carter; so out loud that everyone turned around.

2. NO! I’m going home with my mom in my car: answered Carter, when in the mall a lady offered him to take him home with her.

3. Everytime we go shopping, Carter wants to get a toy. Well, I told him that first he had to ask Santa. While shopping for presents, I picked out a kitchen decoration which I put back right away. Carter asked: Do you have to ask Santa, too?

4. I am good boy; said Carter. Why are you good boy? I asked. Because I share, he replied.

5. Mom; my daddy and I are going to Africa. You stay here to cook and clean.

6. Carter tried to help his sick daddy. He gave Frank a kiss and asked him; are you feeling better now?

7. Carter noticed something was wrong with me and suddenly hugged me saying: please don’t be sad, it’s OK.

8. I am a dinosaur and you are a horse daddy; said Carter. And, what kind of animal is your mom? She is a pig.

9. I like to go to Grandpa’s house. Why is that? He has Popsicles.

10. I told Carter he forgot to take me with him to see Grandpa and Grammy J. I’ll take you next weekend; he answered.

11. We have a small garage for a SUV and a truck. At the begining I had a hard time driving out the garage. One time Carter said: Please be careful, don’t scratch my daddy’s truck.

12. I told Carter that it is important to brush his teeth every day. To brush the cookie out? He asked. Yes, to brush the cookie out, I responded. But I hadn’t eaten any cookie today, he commented.

13. Mom; I don’t like girls. They are ehuuu.

Some of you don't know that one of my specialties is breaking things around the house. For example, I broke the patio sliding door handle last night. Now, one of my hunsband specialties is exagerate as he talks. He said that we might had to replace the hole door. When I got home from work, I asked Frank if the maintenance guy replaced the door. No, just the handle; he replied.

I took the boys to the LA Zoo

We took a trip over to Palm Springs and rode the Tram up to the top of San Jacinto peak to play in the snow. Unfortunately we picked one of the busiest days of the year and it was packed. While we waited for the Tram Carter and Frank decided to do a little rock climbing!
